Griffey's probably the least likely of this generation of sluggers to be on the juice, as the arc of his career numbers are more "traditional", in that he peaked at 27-28 and didn't all of a sudden become a much better hitter in his mid-30s. Also, there are stories out there about Bonds and Griffey talking about the possibility of doing roids in the winter of 98/99 and Griffey being adamant about not being interested. Though whether there's any truth to those stories, who knows?

Entertainment is all that sports are, was, and ever will be. And all this steroid jazz has turned it into a soap opera, and people who probably never tuned in before....will tune in now. So, the fact that attendance is higher than ever doesn't really shock me.Comment

Re: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz on "The List"
I have got to get some kind of satellite service. Some other source for sports news on TV besides ESPN. They are so biased, they are an embarrassment to serious journalists everywhere.
Just listening to them on SC just now since I just heard the news. And they are trying to deflect blame from Ortiz, making up possible excuses for him. They are virtually calling the sources lawbreakers (Did they mention that when Barry Bonds tests were stolen from sealed court documents by the SF Examiner?). And giving an almost "so what?" attitude about the reporter who broke the story (Did they do that w/the SI reporter who exposed A-Rod?).
They are such hypocrites! I could just........OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this shock you. They are Red Sox schills and it starts at the top. It's the only reason Peter Gammons is still employed.Comment

Re: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz on "The List"
In no way does it shock me. But it steams me beyond belief. How people can get away w/crappy mess like this. Its one thing that Fox News does this shoddy underhanded junk, because you always have somewhere else to go. But when ESPN has almost a monopoly on sports news on TV, its downright reprehensible.Originally posted by VP Richard M. I love Canseco.
"When you tell me something I didn't already know, I'll be surprised,'' Canseco told ESPN. "And I'll tell you this, Major League Baseball is going to have a big, big problem on their hands when they find out they have a Hall of Famer who's used."
When asked to name who that Hall of Fame player is, Canseco refused to divulge who he believes it is.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz on "The List"
i could see Ryan dabbling with it late in his career as he was VERY close with Tom House who was the pitching coach at the time. He has admitted to using roids and I wouldn't be surprised if he urged pitchers that he's coached to try them.
Where do you get the Eckersley thing from though?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
