This incident now puts his stats in question.

I am terribly bothered by the state of Major League Baseball. Ethics seems to not be a concern to theirs. They have no problem charging fans ludicrously high fees to watch games, don't care if fans watch the games on television or not, and don't give a damn about how records are broken.

My opinion is that anyone caught cheating in a sport, should be banned from competing in the sport, and have their stats wiped clean. I want to watch games where players are honest, give all they have, and don't mind playing by the rules.

How do we know now that Sammy Sosa hit all those homeruns without a corked bat? I'd say it's a safe bet he hasn't.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

calm down, its just one guy. and you say things about charging high fees? Have you been to a NBA or NFL game recently, those ARE much, much more expensive.

AND no one knows who has corked bats until they break, maybe McGwire and Bonds were on steroids, maybe not.

Wrongo. First, I'm not talking about the other sports directly. I'm talking about Major League Baseball. Secondly, it is well documented that MLB players use steroids, other performance enhancers and are using corked bats. This is a very big deal. The saddest part is that nothing will be done about this, other than punishing Sammy. There won't be any investigation of bats before games. To the people that make money from the game, and Yankees fans, it will never be a problem.

didi you see the 1993 Stanley cup final?1st game Canadiens are down vs LA and at the final minute our coach Jacques Demers calls for an illegal stick on Marty Mcsorley. We score on the power play and win in OT...

Anyway there are more illegal hockey sticks than corked bats.
