Giles is just an all around good guy and a good player. It's kinda sad to see that much talent go to waste in a team that hasn't had a winning record in a decade. Giles has been the Pirates team for years and I hope soon he helps to turn them around.

Pirates win two straight and i still think they have a shot at winning the division(or at least giving a run for the cubs',astros and cardinals money)only 7.5 back..

No way." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Re: Giles is simply amazing...
One of the very few smart things Cam Bonifay did was to sign Giles to a long-term contract.
Of course, he went and did the same thing with Kendall and Young......“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis BlackComment

Re: Giles is simply amazing...
Did you guys know that Giles is 32?
And that he was drafted in 1989?
People forget how he took a long time to develop for the Indians, before he became a Pirate. I for one, before recently, thought he was 2-4 years younger.

Re: Giles is simply amazing...
Not only was he a long time in development, but he was actually the fourth outfielder for the Indians, and they didn't really need to give him much playing time -- which is the only reason I can see for them trading him away for Ricardo Rincon (one of the great fleecings in recent baseball history)“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W.
