How does one know that the Pirates have anything to do with this ludicrous rumor? This could be all Steinbrenner while the Pirates management is sitting back thinking "That'll never happen". Dave Littlefield is not that dumb to trade Giles especially for a bum like Weaver. Just another internet rumor.

Giles is a very good player. Too bad he plays for the Pirates so not many people know how good he his. By the way the Pirates are not even going to come close to winning their division.

Dunno if this is noteworthy at all but...

In all the High Heat video games, when I simulated seasons, B. Giles was always towards the top in ave, hr, and rbi and low in Ks. So I've drafted him for my fantasy team the past two years, because he is such a stud. I think he is the most underrated player in baseball. And all this coming from a Padres fan!

The Pirates need to move back to the NL East and get Doug Drabek, Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla back. That team used to play the Mets every single year with the NL East up for grabs and then beat them. Seriously though, why are the Pirates in the central? Why did the Braves move to the East from the West, and the Pirates got stuck in the Central? Today, wouldn't it make more sense to move the Expos to the Central if you want to preserve the unbalanced Central, and let the Pirates move back to the East?

If the Expos move to Portland,The Portland Expos will be in the NL West(Seattle AL West-Rival)
The Rockies will move to the NL Central and Pittsburgh will go back to the NL East.

someone told me Giles can stop a trade to places he doesn't want to go to..like NYC...The only places he would go to are the teams in the cal-State and of course Atlanta...

Atlanta would be good.It moves Chipper back to 3rd and Giles in the OF.but who would ATL give...Probably they would have to give Ramirez and another prospect.
