    Re: ALDS: Twins vs Yankees

As much as I hope the Twins can steal game 1, I just don't see it happening. The bullpen was taxed pretty badly last night, and I expect CC to be dealing. The only way the Twins can win this game is if Brian Duensing can duel with CC. There's an outside chance of that happening since not many (if any) of the Yankees hitters have faced him. That could buy him one, maybe two, safe trips through the lineup.

The wind blowing out to right favors the Yankees, and I'm afraid of the damage that some of their big bats are going to do tonight against a rookie starter and depleted bullpen.

But hey, that's why they play the games. T-minus one hour.

Buster Olney said if the Twins win this series it would be one of the greatest upsets in baseball history.

I agree with that. Yankees should win this series in 3, but I wouldnt be surprised if it went a full 5 games.

Possibly, but it wouldn't even be the greatest playoff upset in Twins history.

What's the biggest upset in Twins history?

So, fully expecting the Tigers to be playing in this game, TBS is showing a human interest story featuring....BRANDON INGE! It is a great story, but....oops!

I don't agree with that at all. The Twins are 17-4 in their last 21 games. They have the best player in the AL and a number of hot bats. If they get even mediocre pitching from their very unpredictable pitching staff, those hots bats give them a realistic chance to pull off the win in a short series.

It's certainly not likely, but one of the greatest upsets in baseball history? With as well as the Twins played in the final month? No way.

Ha, TBS is currently running a puff piece about Brandon Inge. I realize they would have had to put this together before the Twins made a race out of it, but it's still pretty humorous.

Has to be '87 over the Tigers. That Twins team gave up more runs than they scored while the Tigers led the league in runs scored and were 3rd in runs allowed.

Hm, I could see your point in that but the flip side is that the Tigers were so spent after that AL East race against the Jays. I think you might be right though that's probably their biggest upset ever.
