It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I can't believe he's 34. This is the awkward stage in life when the young 19-year-old stars you watched growing up are getting older with you.

He definitely gets to 700 even if he declines.

He doesn't even need to average 30 home runs a season to reach 800 in the last 8 years of his career. Even players that decline fast with Rodriguez's skills can manage to average 30 homeruns a season into their 40's.

Unfortunately, he'll probably retire with the record.

why is that unfortunate? Because he took Steroids? I really could give two Sh!ts less if he took roids along witht he other players in the mlb. I mean really People baseball was originated as a game. Games are meant to be fun no one on these fourms can tell me they did not have fun and were not entertained by players such as Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa or Alex Rodriguez. Despite taking Roids to me it does not take away from any one of these guys personal achievements because, The fact that they ever took steroids was never supposed to go to the press

Well, Longhorn is Boston fan so immediately we know his opinion is null and void

All kidding aside, it would be nice if someone who didn't take steroids had the record. But, we can't control that.

Honestly, I'm at the point where I'm tired of the outrage over steroids. Yes, it is rather regrettable that many players of the era used steroids to put up inflated numbers but it should have been policed instead of MLB just looking away because it was reviving public interest in the game. At this point, we just should focus on fixing it, and just accept the inflated numbers instead of acting all outraged after the fact over something that should've been fairly obvious to us at the time. Numbers should have context all the time anyway, this was just the steroid era. For example, Cy Young may be the wins winner but he pitched in the deadball era so very few regard his numbers on the same level as more recent numbers.

be my guest. The statements is true though. The 2003 survey on who was taking performance enhancers was supposed to be completely anonymous and it should have never gotten out to the press due to the fact that it was not supposed to be released

                              You're joking right?

This type of mentality is why I could care less about Baseball now. When they let the first roider into the HOF I will probably weep.
