Griffey is my favorite as well. long while back when i was about six i pestered my father to buy mariners tickets just to see him play. Took a who knows how long flight to seattle to sit in the pouring rain and watched griffey play. One of the greatest baseball experiences of my life the game will never be the same with out junior

oooooo got some griffey fans in the house thats always fun! yeah i went to my first mariner game 6-19-09 with my dad it was 0-3 in the eighth the crownd was out of it then my dad started to chant LETS GO MARINERS! and then the whole place was back into it. Guess whos up next in for DH Ken Griffey JR he gets a first pitch homer rallys a comeback 4-3 over the diamondbacks best day ever

I don't think Griffey did steroids just because he has too much fun playing the game. He plays the game the way it is supposed to be played, as a game. He wasn't trying to juice up his numbers and he was never playing contract to contract, he always just seemed like he played baseball because he loved baseball, not for money and not for numbers.

Exactly. He choose to go to Cincinnati for less money to play in the city he grew up in and the team his father played on. It was never about money to Junior, he loved the game and had fun. It's rare to find an athlete of his caliber who has that attitude.

0 because of taking steroids he'll have all the home runs taken away.

                I wish.

I had a buddy at work who had pretty much the same mindset and was sincere about it. The guy really felt that he wanted his superstars to be larger then life superstar hitting mammoth blasts. He said he didn't want it to look like some guy rolled off the couch, grabbed a bat and nailed 40 dingers.

Where steriods against the rules when Sosa, McGwire, Bonds and Arod took them? I hate saying it but Arod will be the all time HR king by the time he is done. Some where close to to 800 HR's.

the thing that I feel like most people don't realize is that its professional baseball and the players have been using "performance enhancers" since the beginning. ESPN wasn't around investing everyones back story back then and it was mostly unnoticed and no concern paid to it. The "sluggers" of the past was using something and just because you didn't hear abbout doess not make them any better than a player like Barry Bonds
