The Tigers have had a history of collapsing down the stretch and the Sox have much better pitching than the Tigers, even with Peavy done for the year. The Sox also have the advantage of being able to make a move before the deadline. Whereas the Tigers, with the economy being what it is in Detroit, I think are not as likely to make a significant deal before the end of July.

Chicago's 6th in the AL in ERA, Detroit's 8th. I wouldn't call that "much" better.

And the economy of Detroit is irrelevant. Ilitch has no problem paying money. The economy's been in the tank for years now, didn't stop Ilitch from grossly overpaying Brandon Inge, Jeremy Bonderman, Nate Robertson, Dontrelle Willis, etc. The Tigers' hesitance in parting with their top level prospects will be what prohibits them from making a big deal, not any imaginary money issues.

And with that, the no hitter is gone...

As the first pitch was just delivered, the Yankees will get another shot at King Felix after he had one of his finest starts of the season against the Yankees the last time. Only allowing two hits and striking out eleven batters.

His counterpart Javier Vazquez has been much less impressive with a 7-7 record and 4.81 ERA. Javier is much improved from his first five starts of the season though, and is eating up a lot more innings now for the Yankees.

Justin Smoak will make his debut in Seattle tonight.

          Let's do it in Seattle!

First time in Phillies history, 3 consecutive walk-offs in extra innings.

Is anyone watching the Yankees on YES in 3D? Is it everything they say it's cracked up to be?

Nick is absolutely Swishalicious, as he hits his 15th homer on the year! And the Yankees take a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the 3rd inning!

Cool Rockies game minus the dumb broad behind me thinking every foul ball was a homerun and every groundout being a hit for the Padres.

Jose Lopez with a grand slam, his 6th homer on the year. As the Mariners now take a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 8th inning.

As my night goes from good to down right terrible. We don't need Cliff Lee, get us some relief please.

Atta boy Felix! Three consecutive CG's against NY. It's ridiculous how good he is.

Obviously the Yankees should have traded for Cliff Lee so he could pitch the 8th.
