And if they are able to win the weak NL Central, they would probably have to play the Braves or Giants, both of whom could beat the Cubs in the playoffs.

The Braves are an offensive team, and good hitting usually surrenders to good pitching. Atlanta has pretty good starting pitching, but nobody that could go up against Prior, Wood, Zambrano/Clement. Russ Ortiz is their best option, and he isn't as good as any of them. The Cubs are more likely to win the division than the wild card, so they would play the Giants, who they have taken 4 of 6 from this year.

First off- 4 of 6 games means NOTHINING when it comes to the playoffs.
Secondly- the Giants will likely play the Wild Card as it will probally be the Phillies or Marlins.
Third-and most importantly- DUSTY WILL FIND A WAY TO BLOW IT!!! He's a genius when it comes to this. He'll start Karros at shortstop if he has to. Whatever it takes to lose, he'll get the job done.
oh wait, I'm just a bitter Giants fan.
I just don't see the Cubs having the experience (post-season) to get out of the first round of the playoffs. They're a few years away, if they keep their staff together.
