What bothers me is, we got rid of Vazquez because we had the "problem" of too much pitching, yet we had to trot out two rookies in the biggest freakin' series of the year.

    Damn money.

You and I both know you can never have too much pitching. I would have loved to see us keep Vazquez. Sometimes I think GM's just make moves to look busy and this one just struck me as one of those...

It's not like Melky has done anything for us (except infuriate me with his oompa loompa like play in CF).

If our offense could consistently produce and give us even 4 runs per game we would have a hot finish. 4 runs is all I'm asking.

...we would've won that series if we had 4 runs in all 3 games.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

CarGo with a grand slam but Rockies are down 8-6 to Arizona still. SMH in this series

Eh, I'm certain it was a money move.

Melky hit that homer a few weeks ago, didn't he?

Doesn't offset all the CRAP he's done, including that horrendous fielding error against the Reds.

Rockies suck on the road, so know shock there that they are losing. I am hoping the Dodgers can take care of business and hold on for the win. Big series with the Rocks tomorrow. I am just hoping for one game, if we take 2 then most likely we will knock them out of the division hunt.

Dodgers got it done, now it is up to the Dbacks.

I am really hoping that if the Giants take the west that SD takes the wild card. Cox can go home and watch the playoffs from his rocker.

Not terribly meaningful, but as of now the Twins have the best record in the league.

First time since 1965 that it's occurred this late in the season.

Not meaningful? Pishaw...of course it means Gardy's the best manager in the league (http://joeposnanski.blogspot.com/201...ardy-rant.html)

JoePos loves him some Gardenhire. He usually writes something on his blog about him every year (to go along with numerous smaller references), he just kicked it up a notch this season.

Contemplated selling the tickets for the Giants/Rockies series but decided it'd be worth it to see the Rockies potentiall drag the Giants down and out. Rather see the Padres get in than the Giants.

Great player manager. Terrible tactical manager.

Gardenhire may not be a great tactical manager but sometimes you don't need that in order to win. You certainly don't want a meddling type of manager like La Russa running the Twins.

Anyways, I have to remark on the dominance at Target field. Why exactly are they so dominant at home? BTW from what i've seen of that field it's VERY reminiscent of old Metropolitan Stadium which is really neat.
