Which is perfectly fine during the long grind of the regular season, for every mistake he makes most opponents are bound to make at least one in return.

The problem is that come playoff time those mistakes tend to get punished, often severely.

Bingo. With the team he has now, he must win at LEAST one playoff series. Before the season my minimum expectations were ALCS. Anything less is a failure.

I don't know, I haven't looked into the stats. Off the top of my head, I'd say it's because it's more of a pitcher's park and the Twins have better overall pitching than most teams. I'm sure snepp can break it down a lot better than me. All the experts said they were going to lose their home field advantage moving out of the dome. Wrong again.

Target Field has a brutal park factor for home runs, but so far the park factors for run scoring is actually a hair above average.

Take with a grain of salt, a single year of park data is like a single year of UZR data for defense, more is needed to draw any definitive conclusions.

Right, too early to tell. The Twins are probably the second-best hitting team in the majors, so I think the fact that runs at Target Field are only a hair above average could tell us something. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out after a few years.

The freakin' Nationals...I cannot believe that Chipper Jones meant so much to this lineup, but right now no one can hit water falling out of a boat. Mac/Prado are ice cold. I can't believe the Braves are even still in the post season picture. What a disappointing finish.

Seriously, not ONE Brave is playing well right now. Our pitching sucks, our defense sucks, and our hitting sucks more.

Seriously, if it can go wrong for Atlanta, it does right now. Willie Harris with an inside the park home run.

Phillies make it 11 in a row, 3-2 win over the Mets. Madson and Lidge have looked very strong in the bullpen. Add that to the starting rotation and offense...

93-61. If both the Twins and Yanks losing (down by 10 and 7 runs, respectively) the Phillies will have the best record in baseball by the end of the night.

It's a shame that Prado has gone so cold right now after a great year. You can't strike out in that situation...

This team just sucks...unbelievable that you can strike out 3 times with a runner on third.

I'm not even sure why I'm still watching this trash Atlanta is calling Major League baseball...it's not healthy. Wagner throws it into the RF corner allowing the runner to score ALL the way from first.

If the Brave's score holds, the Phillies could be looking at a possible clinching situation tomorrow night.

I thought this was Lidge's most shaky outing in recent games. I mean that first shot by the Mets 1B was very, very close to tying the game tonight. He gave up another deep ball too. But, the T.O. call by the Mets right as Lidge is delivering was bogus..... and it was garbage that the ump allowed it.
