    Re: Jose Reyes

There is no official word on Mo, but the general concensus is that he is done. If he is, we can free up his money. And Philips/Piazza will take over at first and catcher which definatly strengthens the lineup. Phillips is pretty good out there. If he does come back...well...I don't want to even think about that

How? How are the Giants going to acquire him? I would love to hear it.
BTW, the majority of Mets fan want to go after Luis Castillo, and Kevin Millwood. Vlad Guerrero won't cut it in NY.

About Reyes, he's something. He got a lot of upside, and if the Mets weren't losing, he would have been the most overhyped player in MLB.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Sorry, I meant I would love to see him as a Giant. A good potential star like him won't find good value in NYN IMO. Oh well, as long as he's not in Canada, he will be more noticed.

I meant to say I WANT to see him as a Giant. I mean of course the Mets will try to keep him as long as they can, I was just saying.

That's a good point. Since no one's been watching the Mets' he's gotten to have his cup of coffee with little to no pressure. Obviously it's worked for him. He's awesome.

And this wasn't the first game he's about single-handedly won, either. Not long ago against CINCI I saw him drag a bunt hit, then go from first-to-third on a ground out then score when Adam Dunn sent his throw into the left-field box seats trying to catch him. I think it was the only run of the game.

                        Re: Jose Reyes

That's what many rookies are showing these days. Agressiveness. Besides them, the only aggressiveness you see from a team is either from the Marlins or the A's. Reyes is going full-out. You should've seen some of his plays last night (right now it's Friday )... he is VERY agressive, and although he doesn't have the arm the Furcal has, he has the glove that Furcal doesn't have. Reyes has spectacular range... when he can nail the off-balance throws, he'll be a true-blue shortstop. I think some of his games should be at 2nd for a while (not now, but during Spring Training or something)... I mean he's not a big guy yet, and his arm isn't the greatest, but he's still growing.

Has anyone ever decided to change their votes for ROTY? I mean Dontrelle is great and all, but you know, I just have more love for Reyes this year.

As for ROY... Dontrelle had everyone captivated but I think the hitters figured him out a little and he's been pretty mediocre for a while. We'll see if he makes the necesary adjustments. A strong September and he's my NL ROY. But Reyes is gaining on him fast. He just keeps getting better and better. We'll see.
