    Re: Jose Reyes

I was going to compare Reyes and Byrd, which is hard since Byrd has 100 more at-bate-- but what's funny is they're both listed at 6 feet tall, but Byrd weighs 230 pounds while Reyes weighs 160... that's 70 friggin' pounds!

How? How are the Giants going to acquire him? I would love to hear it.
BTW, the majority of Mets fan want to go after Luis Castillo, and Kevin Millwood. Vlad Guerrero won't cut it in NY.

About Reyes, he's something. He got a lot of upside, and if the Mets weren't losing, he would have been the most overhyped player in MLB.

i dont think Guerrero would sign with NY anyway....add Sheffield to Castillo and Millwood....or even Colon....that could shape up nicely

Does anyone know how much money the Mets' have managed to free up with all their trading? I would imagine with Glavine/Leiter/Piazza/Floyd still aboard that they'll try and retool for next season.

I believe they freed up around 26 mill by their wheelin'-and-dealin'. The payroll dropped from 116 to 90 million.
The moves I can envision for next season are, signings of Mike Cameron, ANY high profiled pitcher available(Andy Pettite{ },Derek Lowe, Kevin Millwood, Bartolo Colon), and Luis Castillo. Wouldn't be suprised if they tried acquiring Carlos Beltran.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
                        - Lavar Arrington on his new Redskins teammate Sean Taylor.

Man, what a priveledge to be able to buy a 'new' team every season. Watch them sign Castillo to a ridiculous deal and he immediately loses 2/10ths of a second of his home to first speed, then they'll have an infield version of Roger Cedeno. I guess when you're competing in the same market with the Yankees you have little choice but to make stupid *** decisions.
