    ?

The Yankee fanbase is irrational because they wanted to do what you thought Girardi should have done? Am I reading that right?

Irrational because they have an itchy trigger finger. Girardi isn't the greatest manager in the world but he shouldn't be getting the amount of heat that he is garnering.

I don't, unless there's no other choice. Or unless your stud is Bob Gibson. I HATED it when Bob Brenly pitched Schilling in Games 1/4/7 of the '01 Series, since he and the Unit were pretty much unbeatable on full rest.

I have....four or five Yankee fans as friends on Facebook (and, tehn, in real life as well with the same four) and during/afters Games 5 and 6, I think all of them had status updates that said: "Fire Girardi" or "Stupid *** Girardi ****s up again" or something along those lines.

I'm not complaining, as a Sox fan the only thing I root for when the Sox are out is that the Yankees lose, and seeing Yankee fans upset/mad/flipping out over anything is fun...but damn, has he really been THAT bad? I have no idea, truthfully, if he has but damn..he definitely seems to get a lot of heat.

Well game 5 we won and game 6 just ended, so I assume you mean 3 and 4?

Game 3 he the only controversial thing was he didn't bring Rivera in to keep it 2-0, and let it getout of hand. I didn't really have a problem with that. Game 4 he ****ed up. He's taking some heat, but I don't think reading facebook statuses immediately after the game, often from drunk people, is the best judge of that.

Still don't get how this turned into being about irrational Yankee fans, because unless I'm totally reading it wrong, SPTO said that Girardi messed up by not going with a 3 man rotation, and then said that Yankee fans were irrational for saying that Girardi messed up by not going with a 3 man rotation.

Re: Is a Giants-Rangers World Series good for MLB?

if a tex/san fran world series were to take place the ratings would be low very low. beacuse of the lack of marketing

you got to remember the casual fans and the bandwagon fans are the ones who make up a good 40 percent of the world series veiwing and they don't know to much about a michael young, josh hamilton, matt cain, cj wilson, pablo sandoval and such even though these players are all stars and key componets to their team they aren't names like cc sabathia, derek jeter, roy halladay, ryan howard and such

but a tex/san fran world series would be awesome....who doesen't want to see lee vs lincecum? or wilson vs cain?

and if the cable network situation doesnt get itself righted, it wont matter about how many saw the game, because untold millions may not see a thing...

Re: Is a Giants-Rangers World Series good for MLB?

Why do we have to ask this question every team the "ratings friendly" teams aren't in the championship? It's unfair to the rest of the league. Maybe if the MLB wasn't run so piss poorly, and other teams could actually be relevant, they wouldn't have to worry about ratings. But no, lets just let NY stack the deck and then make every other team a bore compared to them.

I don't care what teams they are, the WS is the WS. The two teams playing in it earned the right to be there, and I don't give a **** if people don't watch. That's on them. And the MLB doesn't deserve to have them watch to begin with.

The number five media market against the number six media market. Naw, that isn't good at all. Yeah, it isn't Yankees-Phillies, I'll give you that, but having the World Series in California and Texas isn't a bad consolidation prize.

No matter how bad the ratings are: The game is still going to exist, they're still going to show the games on television, and I'm still going to watch.

Giants/Rangers would be very enjoyable for me.
Same here! Ill be rooting for the Rangers cause i loved Cliff Lee when he was with my Indians and he deserves everything that is going for him. I also like Charlie Manuel and if his Phillies win out that would be great to me too! Im looking at the homer factor in me that both of those guys were good for my Indians and hope for nonthing but the best for them respectively. As a baseball fan im glad to see these smaller payroll teams making headwaves in the playoffs. im not sure about there structures but i am glad to see the yankees and teams like the red sox not in the series no matter what tv execs want for ratings. Baseball needs a salary cap and thats it bottom line.

It's good for me. I doubt that I would have watched the Yankees vs. Phillies in the World Series. Sick of both teams.
