Re: Pitcher/Catcher signs
You probably should check in with the pitcher to see what he usually uses.
As far as I remember, 1 is usually fastball, 2 curveball, 3 slider, and wiggling the fingers is a change. The other signs are probably pitcher-specific.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis Black -

Re: Pitcher/Catcher signs
1 for fastball, 2 for curve.
Basically, that's it. If the pitcher has anything else, make it a 3.Comment

Re: Pitcher/Catcher signs
Yeah, check with your teammates. It's really different for every team. I pitched and in high school it was 1 - fastball, 2 - curve, 3 - change, 4- slider. When a guy was on second it would depend on the inning. 1st inning was the first sign after the "trigger", second inning second sign after the "trigger" etc.... The trigger was determined before each inning. Sometimes 5 fingers, sometimes 2 etc. Usually 5 unless someone caught onto it.
In college my coach liked 1 - best pitch that pitcher threw, 2 - second best pitch etc... So it really depends on what the coach/pitcher/catcher feel most comfortable with.
