    Pitcher/Catcher signs

I'm about to start fall ball tomorrow and haven't played organized ball for a while. I'll probably play a little catcher and I'm a little rusty on signs. Can someone help me out?

You probably should check in with the pitcher to see what he usually uses.

As far as I remember, 1 is usually fastball, 2 curveball, 3 slider, and wiggling the fingers is a change. The other signs are probably pitcher-specific.

1 for fastball, 2 for curve.

Basically, that's it. If the pitcher has anything else, make it a 3.

Yeah, check with your teammates. It's really different for every team. I pitched and in high school it was 1 - fastball, 2 - curve, 3 - change, 4- slider. When a guy was on second it would depend on the inning. 1st inning was the first sign after the "trigger", second inning second sign after the "trigger" etc.... The trigger was determined before each inning. Sometimes 5 fingers, sometimes 2 etc. Usually 5 unless someone caught onto it.

In college my coach liked 1 - best pitch that pitcher threw, 2 - second best pitch etc... So it really depends on what the coach/pitcher/catcher feel most comfortable with.
