Man, how I'd love to see Vlad the Impaler in an O's uniform. But just out of curiosity, when did Vlad give an impression that Baltimore was his #1 choice? Is there a news article where he made that quote? Link?

I never said that we are his #1 choice, I said that we have announced he is our #1 target to acquire. I have heard from several sources that he does like Beattie, though. BTW, do you actually live in Baltimore city or outside of it? I'm from Ellicott City myself. We have season tickets to the O's.

To be honest, if the Expos want to give the impression that they're trying to their fans, they won't let him get away. What will probably happen is they'll end up giving him the 13-14 million a year and then continue to get cheap, close to the major league minimum players.

Vlad does not want money he just wants a steady home. he wants a home for his mom and his mom is happy in Montreal and he "DOES" Not want to be in a spot light if he leaves and goes to another team he will be in the spot light and he wont be able to handle all the hype. Since he is in Montreal he doesn't have to deal with all that. Thus he is staying in Montreal period.
