    Re: Where will Vlad go?

As a Marlins fan i cants say anything bad about Loria, but anyways...I dont understand how people can say Vlad wants a steady Home, so he'll stay in Montreal...They have no idea where they will be in 2 years...And he will be the center of attention in Portland, Washington, or Virginia. I personally would love to see him come play Right Field for the Marlins but i know that wont happen, so i think he'll end up hopefully staying in Montreal.

Man, Truth, you have the most ironic name...

Let's correct one thing... Portland DOES want the Expos. They just declared they weren't going for the Expos for 2004, but rather 2005. Since the city obviously isn't ready to house a team next season, they decided to focus their attentions long-term in order to have a better proposal in hand. The city needs aprox 200 mill in private funding in order to get a stadium built. Big difference between that and 'backing out'.

If the city of Montreal wants the Expos to stay so bad then they should get their asses in the seats. You cannot convince me a single man (Loria) can destroy the love of baseball in an entire city.

Dude you know nothing about Montreal. You Know nothing about what happened. You never lived in Montreal, You dont follow them, and you sure in do not know the whole story on what happened. You believe the Hype of what you see on TV or what Selig says.

the Real Deal is that loria took over after the first owner destroyed part of the foundation that Montreal was built. Loria stepped in a made the matter worse. The Expos were offered TV contracts loria turned them down, They were offered French radio deals he turned them down. It was all about stupid money. Then when nothing was going the way he planned he started not paying attention to the business aspect for the Expos not caring for what was going on. Then when the BS crap about contraction came up he ran and where did run off to? The Stupid Marlins and he took everything of the EXPOS. EVERYTHING and Also "THE TRUTH" Is and the fact is the 1 thing that has killed Baseball in Montreal which is a fact is the '94 Strike when the EXPOS were going to take it all had the best record and everything that Killed Baseball in Montreal and now when we are trying to get back on track after Loria screwed the 'Spos everyone is all high on selig dude get real selig knows nothing about baseball.

also lets get one thing correct here and that is Portland Does not want the 'spos they said it they told selig they will not make a home for the 'spos cause it would cost them to much money to fund a home for them and they wont have it.

Sorry about the rant just hate people smashing the 'spos when they know nothing and talking about the players.

Here are some links to the present state of things in Portland regarding the Expos and/or possibility of another team coming to Portland.

Personally, I'd like to see one of the Florida teams come to Portland. Personally, I'd love to see the Expos turn a profit, get a great owner and be a succesful team in Montreal. I'd love to see Vlad be an Expos for life. I could give a rats *** about Bud Selig. He sucks. Thats no secret.

But if you're going to come on here and call yourself 'the truth' and run on all staunch and intolerant at least give us some links to back up what you're saying. Because if there is indeed a point to be made you're doing it no justice.

The first article said nothing about Montreal other than they do want a team I guess and but they don't want to pay the ransom that MLB demands. Then in the second article says that there is a possibility that they will go after the 'Spos this year but if not they will go after them in 2005 with Northern Virginia and Washington,D.C. But there is still hesitation on this situation it seems like from everyone.

Portland will try for another MLB team if there bid for the 'Spos fail.

What do you want links about? See every article I found on the net regarding the ‘Spos nothing is for sure. They will put a bid or will even have enough money for the 'Spos to bring them to Portland. If there is going to be talk about the 'Spos going anywhere then I guess you have to throw in Washington and Virginia. Because Portland is not the only city. Portland has changed there minds on the 'Spos numerous of times.

It might not be a lot but people in Montreal or where ever have raise over 3 million to buy/save the 'Spos if you want to see here. Buy the 'Spos

Here's a interesting thread from the Montreal Expos website.

Ok there you go some info. But the articles might not be up to date. But those are the only really ones that like sorta prove my point that Portland is unsure what they really want to do. Other than the fact the claim that they want a MLB team for 2005.

I have said this before as well, MLB doesn't own really the whole Montreal Team. There were part owners of the club when Loria(sp?) owned the club so he didn't own the club outright I guess would be the right word to use. So, why would any city want to get involved with MLB and Montreal when the potential buyers and MLB could possibly get sued?
