Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Joel Sherman of the New York Post hears that the Astros prefer the Braves' prospects to the Phillies' prospects. Atlanta won't give up the "key guy," who is believed to be Mike Minor:
ESPN.com's Buster Olney reports that the Braves, generally speaking, have zero enthusiasm about giving up Minor, Julio Teheran, Arodys Vizcaino or Randall Delgado:

More Pence rumors:
The Astros would prefer to deal Pence to the Braves, but Atlanta continues to be very protective of their big-time pitching prospects, The Phillies are still working to get something done.
Houston is still playing the Pence market and working to bring other teams into the mix besides the Phillies, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:
Jon Heyman of SI hears that the Astros don't love the Phillies prospects, and that may even include Domonic Brown.

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
I'm undecided on Brown. I'm getting pretty sick of his terrible fielding. With all that athleticism and speed, you'd expect he would field better.. He's also pretty inconsistent at the plate too. He has the potential to be a great player, but I'm really leaning towards throwing him in for Pence if they want him + Singleton.
It might seem like a high price to pay, but Singleton is blocked by Howard anyway and Brown hasn't exactly lived up to the hype.Last edited by philliesfan136; 07-29-2011, 09:35 PM.Comment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Roger Bernadina's name was not found on the Nationals' lineup card:
Could be that he was traded/sent down to make room for Chien-Ming Wang or they forgot his name or something.
EDIT: Disregard this. Bernadina has been sent down to AAA, but still could be traded. I don't know why the Nationals don't believe in him..Last edited by philliesfan136; 07-29-2011, 03:53 PM.Comment
