Phillies are also getting cash in the deal:

BTW, this is the one-year anniversary of the Oswalt trade.

One of the PTBNL is AA RHP Josh Zeid:

      Rotoworld's description:

"Zeid, 24, has struggled a bit with the jump to Double-A this season, posting a 5.65 ERA and 56/27 K/BB ratio over 11 starts and 10 relief appearances. The 2009 10th round pick was ranked as the Phillies' No. 23 prospect coming into the season by Baseball America."

      A later description:

"Zeid was ranked as the Phillies' No. 23 prospect coming into the season by Baseball America, but he's not quite on the level of Jarred Cosart and Jonathan Singleton. The 24-year-old right-hander has a 5.65 ERA and 56/27 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings in Double-A this season, though he has enjoyed more success in relief. That would likely be his role if he reaches the majors."

Speculation tonight is there's already a tentative either/or deal in place for #Mariners LHP Erik Bedard. Better he throws, more they get.

My opinion on the Pence trade?

We keep Brown! I'm so happy.

in my dream world, he replaces Ibanez, but that's not happening.

I could have lived w/o Brown. Ibanez, though obviously slower, is a better fielder than Brown. It won't matter.... Ibanez - Victorino - Pence. I'll have to get used to it. Let's see what Pence says in an interview and how he acts the first time the crowd boos him as part of his indoctrination.

Some stuff from last night and this morning from MLBTradeRumors

The Padres asked for Joe Wieland and Robbie Erlin from the Rangers for Adams and were turned down, but only were seeking Wieland for Bell:

Up until late yesterday, the Astros were looking to get even more out of the Phillies. Houston insisted that the Phillies had to include two more of their top ten prospects, including 2010 first-round pick Jesse Biddle:

In what could be an indication of a forthcoming move, the Tigers are calling up pitching prospect Jacob Turner:

Meanwhile, Jason Beck of MLB.com tweets that the club is not answering questions about his status:

The Red Sox and Dodgers are in trade talks involving Kuroda for a propsect:

The Rangers "have gone deep into negotiations with the Padres about Bell, and both sides are optimistic they can strike a deal," :

Just a little report from this morning I saw.

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Braves have "discussed to varying degrees" Michael Bourn, B.J. Upton and Marlon Byrd.

You honestly think Brown is a better OF than Ibanez RIGHT NOW? Brown's judgement on a ball is horrendous and I believe this is the majority opinion. Clearly he's faster, but his judgement and confidence in the OF is not MLB level. He may have cost them the game the other night in the loss to SF, taking an unnecessary chance to dive at a ball at a point in the game where you play safe, for example.

Don't just refute the point by saying "No". Your H.S. debate team wouldn't stand for it.

But it doesn't matter today. Pence will be in RF and Brown will be on the bench where he belongs this season.
