Adrian was an unknown and I bet if he had struggled with San Diego, he'd be trash like fans are treating Rizzo and Blanks now. However, Terrmel Sledge was alright for a short time, but fizzled, but I still don't see what the Rangers saw in catcher Billy Killian.Comment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
I just hope they don't overpay for Bedard now since their leverage is dwindling with the deadline quickly approaching. If Clay can get back for the playoffs, I wouldn't go all out for a starter.
Any news on the Braves outfielder pursuit? Bourne is losing traction, but old friend Infante is actually in discussion.Comment

I would like him off the bench. Seems like starting in Florida has kinda oversaturated his effect.Comment

If this is true...just wow. I'd rather have Bourne than Pence and we didn't give up a thing."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

And it gets better...the Astros are covering a good portion of Bourne's salary. Does Wren have dirty pictures of Ed Wade or something?"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Sad to see Ubaldo go. I was willing to write this season off and was hoping he'd bounce back in 2012 for the Rockies. I did see him pitch against the Braves a couple of weeks ago and he was on top of his game, so I'm glad that personally, I saw him leave on a high note. I was also in attendance last year when he set the Rockies' single-year win mark.
Cleveland is getting a GREAT guy in Ubaldo. I don't think you'll find anyone that would say anything bad about him. Last year, he would WALK from his apartment downtown to Coors Field. He always had a smile on his face and was always pleasant with the fans.
I do like the prospects the Rockies are getting and hopefully, if De La Rosa can recover from Tommy John surgery, the rotation will be decent next year.
I don't know if anyone will say it or not on the Rockies' end, but I think the fact that Ubaldo, if he turned things around, was going to command a large sum of money and the Rockies, having already locked up Tulo and Cargo, weren't comfortable with having 3 players make up a majority of the payroll. Since the season went downhill, the Rockies were able to make a deal that should help them in the future, and saves them from having to make a tougher decision on Jimenez down the road.Phil 3:14

Nice move by the Braves, didn't have to give up one of their young good pitching prospects.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Either way, I'm just glad the deal didn't go through. Giving up 4 prospects (regardless of how they are rated) for bench depth and a broken spot starter is not my idea of productive dealing.Comment
