    NL MVP Race

    Who you got?

Kemp has had an amazing, definitely been the best player overall I think.

Berkman has had a great year, and Pujols is coming on strong after a slow start.

But for me the top three candidates are Braun, Fielder, and Upton. They all have had great years leading their teams in 1st place. I dont know who is more deserving when it comes to Braun and Fielder, both have been very good.

    1. Upton
    2. Braun
    3. Fielder
    4. Kemp
    5. Berkman

    Did I miss anybody?

    Re: NL MVP Race

if they were playing at a higher level and were in the race, Joey Votto would be near the top, looking for his 2nd straight MVP.

but of the ones mentioned, give me Braun or Berkman.

Votto starting to get his MVP home run swing back but since the Reds are pretty much done this year, he'll most likely won't retain his title

        1. Fielder
        2. Braun
        3. Kemp

He's hitting .256 with an .833 OPS. Good power with 27 homeruns, but not an MVP season compared to the other guys. You could argue he's having the worst season of his career.

I just read a good article that shows how he is overrated. He's gotten more at bats with runners on base than anybody since he came up. Great power but doesn't hit for much average, and his OPS' over the past few years are really mediocre for somebody in his situation. The other guys mentioned are hitting near or over .300, with the same power, and OPS' near 1.000, Howard hasn't been playing on their level this year.

For me right now It'd be Fielder or Braun, if either of them got picked you wouldn't get any argument from me.

All those guys are putting great numbers. This race is probably going down to the wire. You really can make a great case for all of them.

To comment on Ryan Howard though. Why would he be in the discussion? Yeah he is a good hitter, but his season hasn't lived up to years past. He is having career lows in nearly every offensive category, his BA/OBP/Slg is way below his career average, and all of this leads to him not remotely comparing to any of the 5 guys mentioned in the OP.

Ryan Howard isn't in the discussion.

For me this race is a lot harder than the AL race. There's lots of guys that are very deserving. I would probably go with Justin Upton for the best player on a playoff team factor (and even if they don't make it they were in the race), but Troy Tulowitzki, Joey Votto, Matt Kemp, and Ryan Braun are also very deserving.

                            NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)

                              Heres my top4:

                              Kemp
                              Upton
                              Braun
                              Fielder

I feel Kemp is the MVP because he has a line of .322 28HR 92RBI 33 SB, on the Dodgers. Braun and Fielder can help each other. Upton has Young, Roberts, Johnson, and Montero to help him. Kemp has Andre Either. Kemp is easily the most valuable player to his team. Imagine the Dodgers without him.
                              MLB: Detroit Tigers
                              NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
                              NCAA FB: Penn State
                              NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
