The Giants are so against giving Lincecum run support that Beltran and Sandoval waste a first and third with less than 2 outs. Lincecum will finish with a sub .500 record with the 4th best ERA in the NL.

Brad Penny strikes again.

Only in Detroit will somebody with a 5.40 ERA over 30 starts have a chance at a postseason start.

You think? I assumed the Tigers were going Verlander, Fister, Scherzer, Porcello. Penny shouldn't be on their postseason roster, much less get a start.

Cards win, and forget the magic number at this point - Braves WC lead is 1 with them playing Philly and the Cards playing the Astros.

How hard will the Phils play with the chance to knock out Atlanta?

You'd think the Phillies would rather the Braves make it than the Cards since the Cards are the only team with a positive record against them.

If I was Philadelphia, I'd rather have Atlanta in the playoffs than St. Louis.

I wouldn't.

If Atlanta makes it, Philly gets either Milwaukee or Arizona. If I were Philly, I'd rather deal with St. Louis.

Is this Correct, if Cardinals make it.. then they play Philly in the 1st.

Yeah if So, Philly should want Atlanta to make it because they struggled versus ST. Louis in their season series. + their Lineup is really dangerous.

Is Weaver gonna pitch this week vs Texas? I need Texas to lose a game or two so Detroit can take home field. They are facing Haren tomorrow. I don't care about that ERA title with Verlander, I want Weaver to shut them out!

Personally I would wait to see who we play. Schezer is very good at home, but gets killed on the road. And Fister is pitching as well as anybody in baseball, I would rather have him start a game on the road.

Porcello definitely over Penny. Rick has look better lately. Better, but not great. Still don't see him shutting down any teams in the postseason, but hopefully we can get a quality start. He looked so confident in game 163 agaisnt Minnesota his rookie season, I have a feeling he might give the Tigers a good game.

But Verlander/Fister are as good as any 1-2 with the way Fister has been pitching lately. If they can take the first two games, you just need either Scherzer or Porcello to get 1. I think they can.

He's scheduled to pitch Tuesday on 3 days' rest. If the Angels are eliminated tomorrow (possible), I'm guessing he'll pitch Wednesday.

The reason I want home field so bad is that i am going to game 1, and it would be great if it was Friday. Perfect day and perfect weekend. So I need this!
