Let me know what you think about that. I'm still flabbergasted.

I would have loved to have seen this reaction from Russell after being tossed by Paul Schrieber:

          Here's a stupid question:

Why would Francona be fired if the Red Sox don't make the playoffs? The right players are out there. If they don't have the fire, or if the ball doesn't happen to land in the right place, Tito is not to blame for any of that.

**** this team. Good season guys. We'll pick it up next year. I just don't see it happening. We are playing with NO SENSE OF URGENCY at all.

The team just hit a wall. I saw somewhere that like 61% of the innings thrown by the Braves this month have been by rookies. Which is amazing. And they've actually held their own. We just can't score for crap right now. Neither Prado nor McCann have been right since coming back from injury.

I have a feeling that it might come down to a one game playoff (if Houston can hang on tonight), and St. Louis would win that.

Confucius would say that it is easier to just fire the manager than 25 players.

Agh, I just remembered Lowe starts tomorrow.

                    Go Astros x2.

And the Cards tie it. Gonna have ties in both WC races tonight.

Berkman comes up in the clutch! Now let's see if we can score any more to take the lead.

Same team, same manager all season. This team also strings together double-digit runs in ball games like no other. There is no reason that anything has to happen, other than come back next season and try the best not to **** up again.

My point is, the right stuff is there on paper. No "new manager" will light a hotter fire under their butts like Francona will. It's just stupid math in my mind.

I agree. Firing Francona would be an incredibly dumb idea. He is not the problem.
