I gotta give a shout to the '80 NLCS, every single game went into extra innings.

But as far as total post-season (all series) '86

-Dave Henderson knocks HR off D.Moore when the Halos were 1 out away.
-Marathon battle between Houston and the Mets
    -Billy Bucks

I thought the Mets beat the Astros in 6? I think I saw that on Battle Lines on ESPN where they showcased the 86 series between the Mets and Sox but they also discussed how each team got there. It seems to me Eisen mentioned that for the Mets there was an emphasis of beating the Astros in six since Mike Scott would have pitched in game 7. I could be wrong but I think thats right.

No, you're correct. It went 6 games. Mike Scott was so dominate in games 1 and 4 that winning game 6 was a do or die situation for the Mets.

Ya, it was 6 games, but I believe game 6 went like 15 innings, if I remember correctly.

For me it was 1985. Royals were down 3 games to 1 against the Blue Jays in the ALCS and then won 3 in a row to reach the World Series. Then in the World Series they were down 3 games to 1 to the Cardinals and they ended up winning the final 3 again.

Not only that but there was the way StLouis got into the WS. Do you remember the late inning HRs by Ozzie Smith and then Jack Clark both off of Tom Niedenfeuer?
