If Lonnie Smith hadn't had his head up his butt, we wouldn't be talking about Morris in game 7. Everyone seems to forget that Smoltz threw a shutout for 9 innings. He would have won that game if not for Smith. It's a shame. As a lifelong Braves fan, 1991 will haunt me until the day I die. That and Eric Gregg's strikezone in 1997. Please make it stop.

      Um....1918.....

Anyways, in recent memory, probably 2001 with the D'Backs and Yankees World Series. I really didn't know who to cheer for to be honest. I wanted to cheer on the D'Backs because they were the underdog, noone thought they could win, and they were facing my most hated team the Yankees. On the other hand, with 9/11, I actually found myself rooting for NYY this ONE year, to help release the tention and it would be a very emotional win for the Yanks, and the only time I ever cared for them as a team. Of course I was happy when the D'Backs won, because they toppled the Yanks, but it wouldn't have really mattered who won to me. Not to mention the World Series itself was incredible.

This one is particularly memorable, but for a completely different reason. Game 6 was great as well. I think I'm going to either get a month long pass to MLB.com's video archives to watch these games. Here's a link to anybody who wants to check out their favorite game.

Well I'd say 1989 since it was the last time my beloved A's won the WS.

But seriously, however, in terms of excitement, I don't think anything could have topped the finale of 1991 WS. Watching Smoltz and Morris go at it was amazing. Even more amazing with Morris going 10 innings.

1986's postseason contains three of the Top 10 ESPN 'Most Painful Baseball Losses'... and remember, there were just three series then. I feel sorry for those who were too young to have seen it.

This season, rightfully, contains two, though, so it's certainly in the running.
