    Epstein to Cubs?

As a Cubs fan, I could only hope. He'd have tons of money to play around with, and he wouldn't have to deal with the Yankees.. move makes sense to me. Now only if we could get Francona too. Watching the Cubs this year was horrific, maybe a complete overhaul is needed.

I remember hearing whisperings about this when Hendry stepped down. Apparently Theo has hinted he might want a new challenge.

If he were able to bring a championship to the Cubs.. what a legacy. Ending the two longest droughts in MLB history

That's the only reason I can see him coming over. Personally, I'll start with taking Francona, but if Epstein comes to, that would be a welcome change.

If I were the cubs, I would throw everything to get Andrew Friedman.

At the very least the Cubbies should bring in Francona for an interview...

Maybe bring in Epstein AND Francona!

Either way I could see a guy with Epstein's ego going to the Cubs for the challenge that it'd bring. He'd go down in baseball history as one of the greatest execs if he could lead both the Red Sox and Cubs to WS titles.

He doesn't have the best track record when it comes to FA signings.

I'm not a Cubs fan, but that is one team that I would like to see succeed.

Which is why it'd be good he had all that money.

Can't be any worse than Hendry's track record.

I dunno, i'd like to see that happen but i'm fearful that Cubs fans will become like Red Sox fans and turn into insufferable boors who think the world revolves around them yet still have a complex about losing even though they've been one of the best teams over the last 7-8 years.
