You don't see it as Pedro not getting it done, yet again? Now that I reflect a little on it, I feel like taking out Varitek was the wrong move. But that's it.

The way i saw it was that Pedro WAS getting it done, but he was gassed IMO. He was basically unhittable until that inning (besides the two Giambi HR's), and even though he was still hitting low 90's on the gun, he left a lot of pitches over the plate... this was before Matsui. When Grady went out, I thought FOR SURE that Pedro would be taken out and IMO that would have been the right move. But Pedro shook him off and said that he wanted to stay in. THAT'S what I expected from Pedro b/c he's a gamer and wants the ball in his hands. But as a manager in the postseason, you DO manage slightly differently than you do during the regular season. Even though Pedro shook him off, Grady's the freakin' manager. This isn't game 45 of the regular season, it's game 7!!!! He should know that his bullpen (which has been criticized ALL season long) has been dominating this postseason. You have Matsui (L), Posada (S), and Giambi (L) coming up. No way you leave Pedro in for those 3 hitters right after Jeter and Williams gets on base and his pitch count over 100. Pedro now is not the Pedro of 4-5 years ago. I think batters hit .300+ against Pedro after 110 pitches or so. All these things IMO, EASILY pointed to Pedro being pulled. (pitch #115 was Bernie's single) Whew! Long winded answer

Taking Varitek out was a bad move IMO as well. I also thought taking Ortiz out was a bad move too. But since neither guys were driven in, it was a wash.

Misery. Not only did the Yanks win, but I got punched in the head by a drunk Sox fan who mistook me for a yankee fan because I attended the game with one. My conclusion is that all fans suck. They all jump bandwagons. They all drink too much. If you root for any team you suck. Period. The Sox and Cubs aren't in the World Series because their fans get in the way of foul balls and punch DCE1228 in the head for no stupid reason.

The World Series has already bored me to death.

It was game 7 of the ALCS. Biggest game of the season. He needed to pitch a GEM of a game. He needs to shine once in a while in a postseason, and at least get a CG shutout for me to consider him "great". This was his chance to prove that, and that he should be considered as a great postseason pitcher, like some of the players he has been compared to, and like said, his defining moment. Once in a while he has to be able to close out the game and get an impressive win. He has to go the extra mile once in a while, and this wasn't his highest count this season...But in result he stunk.
So far, he hasn't been all that's expected of him. I wasn't impressed with his game in OAK, Fenway, and today's game. Not the same type of pitcher that he is in the regular season IMO. And this was his chance to take his team to the WS by himself, and he came short of it, just like before. Well, that's my opinion. Little did the right job, and Pedro didn't get his job done.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Yah i wtahced the game from the 4th inning on and was hoping the Sox would pull it out. You have to point the finger at the manager though. Thats ridiculas to leave Pedro in there going into the 8th leading by 3 with a stacked bullpen ready to go. I mean throw it to Lowe or something

Does Boone hitting the game winner remind anyone of Bucky "F*ckin" Dent (as he is know in Boston)? Neither was a power hitter and noone expected a homer when they came up to the plate. I almost feel sorry for the Sox fans.....ALMOST!!
