Charlie Furbush is so bad. I feel like every pitch he throws could be his last, such ugly mechanics. Casper Wells is a nice player though. Good power and speed.
Ya, Casper is a decent player. I don't see much more than a platoon OFer but he has some potential. Francisco Martinez was suppose to be the get in the deal but I've heard mixed reviews on him.

Fister also offers a few more years of control for the team. Just seemed like the M's might of got hosed if Cubs end up with Turner, too bad we couldn't get Smyly over Furbush. Fister probably got a little lucky last year and obviously isn't that good, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are both around 3-4 WAR pitchers.

If that's really the deal, I'm fine with that.

I don't know about the Cubs' financial situation, but that's not a bad deal for Chicago.

Hope he can get his career back on track. It's really a shame how it got derailed. I know that jumping on home plate was not a smart decision, but it really sucks to see someone's career get thrown off track because of an incident like that.

Apparently the Blue Jays are done their shopping this offseason.

I dunno, seems kinda pitiful work on AA's part if that's true (and this is coming from the horse's mouth so there's validity to the report) I can't in good conscience see a GM of a team saying that when they have the money and resources to acquire Prince Fielder who is a need for them....BAH

Our payroll was dwindling by the second lol

I don't know how I feel about dumping Garza. He's a good pitcher and an absolute workhorse. I'd imagine the Cubs are trying to avoid arbitration with him, but we could still have a pretty decent rotation if we keep him around.

I don't know. Maybe just personal preference. If he goes, I just hope we get something really good in return. I haven't seen the other offers, but the Tigers deal seems to be pretty favorable for us.
