        Well, I'll be darned.

I stood by him and he's cleared.

        Odds were against, though.

I wonder if he will say anything about the technicality.

Another black eye to the MLB. There is a huge flaw either in the testing or the system. This ruling does not bode well for baseball and some fundamental changes need to be made before baseball revives the steroid era again.

he got off on a technicality.
He was not challenging the result, he was challenging how they got the result.
This is “glove don’t fit, you have to get acquit”.
Joel Sherman saying the sample took to long to ship was one of the arbitrators reasons for appeal.

While I think Braun is a serious doucher, I find the steroids accusations out of character for him. It just didn't add up.

Re: Braun tests positive for PEDs.

Unless Braun comes out and tells his side of the story, no one will never know including media outlets (BSPN and the like) stating I've heard, we've heard, from that source, from this source, etc......

And if Braun was roiding, I doubt he would continue.

And if the source is right that the Braun team went after the process; here are 3 scenarios

A source familiar with MLB’s drug policy indicated there were only a few ways to overturn a positive test, such as proving a chain-of-custody issue, a flaw in the collection process or providing proof that the player’s team signed off on the substance. Otherwise, the “strict liability” aspect of the policy makes it extremely difficult to exonerate a player.

I speculated earlier in the thread the Brewers might have signed off on the substance.

                            Who knows?

If custody was maintained, it shouldn't matter how long it took to ship the shipment. It would only help Braun as the sample would break down, not create more PEDs in the sample.

MLB gets the decision they wanted. Braun was guilty, but they found a way for the MVP to keep playing.

We will see how fair the MLB truly is now. I can't wait for a nobody minor league player to try this defense.

Arbitrator Shyam Das ruled in favor of Braun because of a chain of custody dispute. Urine sample wasn't sent to FedEx in prescribed time.
