You're stupid if you get caught taking a PED. Most of the guys get caught taking the masking agents, knowingly or unknowingly.

That's why I don't understand why this result is so different.

Maybe this case will shed light on the masking agents and why so many athletes test positive for them, and then blame it on tainted substances or ignorance of the rules. That's the biggest problem with this PED testing ****. 99% of the time when a guy gets caught, it's blamed on something they took as a supplement. Somewhere along the line, these guys either don't know what's on teh banned list and what's not, or they're getting supplements that do not list what is in them (as many do because a lot of the supplements are not regulated stringently).

Regardless, his name is out there. But people will link his name to this report for a while even if it was a bogus result. These guys need to be extra careful because, fair or not, the onus is on them. It can be an honest mistake, but you've got to cover your ***, check and double check that what you're taking is not going to trigger a positive result.

If he got fleeced like J.C. Romero did, then I wouldn't be upset at all. But if he was actually juicing, I would lose respect for him

I'm just hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

I think if Braun is really innocent and clean, once this is all over with(the arbitration and the ruling) he tells ESPN he will submit to a monthly urine test at a lab they choose for a whole year.

Otherwise, even if he's clean and cleared, opposing teams fans will still lump him into the Manny, Bonds, Sosa, McGwire crowd.

If innocent, which I believe for now, I promise I won't lump his name with them. Not that it will do much, but at least you know there are decent people in the world.

A few days between drug tests can make a huge difference. So him testing clean just days later doesn't mean a thing.

I've read steroids stays in your system for 7-10 days.

Depends on when they took the test and when Braun took it again.

That's correct.

He could have taken them and tested positive on the first test. Only for them not to show up on the second because of the timeline.

I've heard reports that it wasn't steroids, but a prohibitive substance.

So, nonetheless, it should be interesting how his arbitration plays out.

We won't find out until January.

Love how the media is casting stones before Braun has a chance to come clean.

He can't say a word because he is going through the arbitration process, but yet the media can still take their shots.

Need to allow Braun his day in court. If he's guilty, he should man up. If he's not, every media outlet gunning for him should apologize.

It depends on what he was taking.

From the sounds of it, he was taking a testosterone booster which from my experience, isn't going to help you hit a baseball in any way. The only thing it really helps out with is muscle recovery and your energy.

Either way, it's banned. He should have known the rules.

Yeah. If you're a professional athlete and taking some sort of substance. You should know what is banned and what isnt. You should know what you are taking. If you pop positive you can really only blame yourself.
