What about all you that didnt know Justin Smoak hasnt had a full season under his belt and when he was healthy he has been great, or how about the fact that in only about 60 games or so Carp had 12 homers, or about the fact that those 3 players could easily get 20 homers, and with the additon of Montero the offense is hands down without a doubt going to be better.

Where did I say anything about me doubting the Mariners have a bright future? I know they have talent and that they could be pretty nice soon. But I'm not going overboard like you are. You're in overdrive defense mode. It's unbecoming.

Well since I saw bkrich83 guarante his team winning the World Series by 2014, I am officially stating, on the record, you can quote this, I mean it, blah, blah, blah, " The Phillies will win the World Series in the next 2 years"

But then again, it doesn't take a rocket-scientist to make an obvious prediction like that...

The best part of this whole thread, is the part about if the writers say it, it must be true.
If you believe Forbes, they'll get an annual deal roughly worth $70m/year (50% of the Angels annual tv deal). Thankfully for everyone except the Yankees, Angels, and Dodgers (soon), money doesn't guarantee success in baseball. Otherwise, poor teams wouldn't consistently compete in the World Series.

With that said, why is this disaster of a thread even open? Its a pissing match about the Mariners, who obviously don't have a top 10 pitching rotation.

I've watched the Mariners, and I haven't been impressed by anyone except Ackley. Seattle has a bunch of unproven, young hitters in an extreme pitchers park. They'll have problems attracting major FA's to come play in Safeco, becuase they're not going to be able to overpay a big name FA to play in Seattle. And Jack Z had a great chance to fleece the Rangers in 2010 for Cliff Lee. Instead, he only got Blake Beavan, Justin Smoak, Matt Lawson, and Josh Lueke. Compare that to what Colorado got for Ubaldo Jimenez. They got Alex White and Drew Pomeranz. That Cliff Lee trade could've been the turning point for that franchise, like the Mark Teixeira trade was for Texas, but he blew that opportunity when he ended up with Smoak and Beavan.

Anyways, I'm done with this little discussion. I still think that Tampa has the best rotation in the AL. If they can get to the playoffs, they've got a great chance of winning the World Series.

Talking about how a fan favorite of your favorite team is going to be a top 10 player at a different position that he's never played at is not a typo.

Anyways, I like the Rays...they are literally 6 or 7 men deep in that rotation. I love me some Matt Moore, think the kid is a stud. Mix him in with Hellickson, Shields, Price, and whoever they want to fill the 5 spot with and that's an incredible rotation.

Dude, they're winning the World Series in 2014 and going to the playoffs next year. Brett guaranteed it. You should be excited.
