There's a pretty good number of teams aces I'd take him over tbh. Pick just about any team from the National League for example, other than the obvious ones (IE Giants, Phils)

Not really buying that Yankees or Rangers have a top 10 rotation.

Think the Marlins could be somewhat in the top 10 or at least close. Josh Johnson, Buerhle, Ricky Nolasco, Anibal Sanchez, and Carlos Zambrano
Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, Lightning

I think for them it all comes down to can Johnson rebound and stay healthy. I don't think that rotation is particularly good, nor is it particularly, bad, I think they are pretty middle of the pack, even with a healthy Johnson.

What's the word on how that ballpark is going to play? Pitchers park? I haven't really been paying attention.

i don't get how the creator of this list has the tigers as the 3rd best P rotation. seriously? the only good proven P is Verlander, sure Fister had a good 2nd HALF with the tigers but that doesn't mean that he'll do what he did last year again this year, and Porcello career ERA is 4.54 and Scherzer 3.92. i hate when people like the guy who made that article say "Max Scherzer and Rick Porcello are a pair of impressive young guns who racked up 15 and 14 wins respectively a year ago" WELL when you have a super good offence by your side of course you'll win 14-16 games, this doesn't mean that you are a Good proven P. The tigers pitching rotation is not even top 5 rotation.

To me the best P rotation is the Phillies rotation.

          1: Phillies
          2. Giants
          3. Rays
          4. Angels
          5. Brewers

EDIT: and he has the Braves as the 12 best P staff. LOL
MLB: Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves
          NBA:Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies

The Bleacher Report site and community needs to be burned to the ground and disposed of.

Yeah, a rotation of Tommy Hanson, Tim Hudson, Jair Jurrjens, Brandon Beachy, and Mike Minor (or one of our 17 other up-and-coming stud pitchers) doesn't deserve to be in the top 10.

            Yeah, ok.

It's a toss up between the Rays and the Phillies for me, but I'm going with the Rays. I don't see their starters going anywhere but up in the near future. plus they pitch in the best offensive division in the game.

                And I wouldn't.

He gets saved by playing with the Angels behind him. Without them, he'd be in serious trouble.

The Rangers have a really solid staff. Lewis will be their Opening Day starter, but I don't think any Rangers fan really considers Lewis an ace. He's a solid #2 guy. Holland will start the season as their #2 and will likely become the ace by the end of the season. Darvish is unknown right now, but his upside is tremendous. The same could be said for Feliz. Matt Harrison is a great #3 and could possibly be a good #2. They've also got great SP depth. I'd probably put them around #8 or #9 in the majors right now, with the possibility of being top 5 by Opening Day 2013.

Perez should be in rotation next year too.

I am not sold on the Phillies being #1 either. But don't have a huge issue with them being #1. I love the Tigers rotation, but fear their defense might hurt the overall numbers of a couple of their guys who live by pitching to contact.

If the two young guys pitch to anywhere near their potential, I LOVE the Rays rotation. I think they potentially are as good as any rotation out there.

Can't argue with the Giants top 3 guys, I am not a Vogelsong fan, and Zito, you just never know what you will get.

If the Angels do somehow add Oswalt as their fifth starter, which has been the most recent rumor, I'd put them against anyone as well.
Phillies 4th starter, which was a rookie last year, Vance Worley started the season 9-1 with a 2.32 ERA. I would pick Worley over Santana, but they are both good.

No, doesn't need to be stickied. There aren't very many topics on the baseball board and the only things that deserve to be stickied are main weekly discussion threads, offseason threads, etc.

Among the 90 or so qualified starters last year, Santana ranked in the 50's in most of the advanced pitching measures. "Ace on a poor team" is a decent description.
