To be honest, I'd be surprised if the M's made it to the playoffs by 2014. Especially in a division with the Angels and Rangers.
I agree the Angels are good, and so are the Rangers, but for how much talent they have, and Albets contarct being so back loaded thats going to stop them from signing all of their all stars, maybe not all of them but atleased a few will, and Alberts only getting older, age will vatch up to him sooner of later, look at Ichiro? Im not comparing the 2 but both were dominant, but sooner of later his number will get horrible, he'll only be a DH and they;kk still be paying him 20 pluss million and syoping them from signing more all stars.

Ok, i know that, but some people arent all about money look at Kevin Durant, chose to stay in a small market team, says he never wants to leave, and took less money so he could stay. If Felix was all about money he wouldnt have signed an extension.

I disagree in saying Oklahoma City is a small market...its not a traditional basketball superpower, but that doesn't disqualify them from being a bigger market. And KD doesn't need a huge contract, he's gonna make millions upon millions of dollars from endorsements in his career (plus in basketball, OKC can pay Durant millions more than anyone else can because of the "Derrick Rose Rule" in the new CBA.)

That's not the point, the point is being realistic. And realistically, Seattle won't be competing for a WS anytime soon simply because of their division. Same way Toronto will struggle (as much as I want them to beat the stupid Yanks and Sox) to compete for a WS as long as New York, Boston, and Tampa keep their talent locked up (which they've proven they can.)

Okay, thats you opinion, but like i said so many times, with how many players that are young on the Angels, and Rangers, atleased a few will leave and they wont be as good as they are now.

The Rangers have one of the best farm systems in all of baseball, they don't need to rely strictly on the free agent market for talent.

With the Angels revenue stream and their new ridiculous tv contract, there really isn't much to stopping them from signing who they want. Their tv contract alone pays them more per year thn the mariners spend on payroll.

And the Mariners can get a new tv contract as well pretty soon, so whats stopping them? im just saying the Rangers wont be as good as they are now because they are going to lose atleased one of their big stars in Kinsler, Hamilton, and Young. And the Angels have a money pit in Pujols.

No im saying its obvious because they have a lot of young stars, stars want money and you cant have a full line up of young stars, no one can aford that but the Yanks or Sox its pretty simple math, Hamilton, Napoli, Young, and Kinsler are going to want to get paid..

Given their market size their tv deal will be nowhere near what Texas or the Angels got.

The Rangers may not lose those guys. Plus their system is deep.

Hard to say Albert is a money pit, unless you know the future. He's still significantly better than anyone in the mariners system.

Any TV contract a Seattle sports team can obtain will be pennies on the dollar compared to the big cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, etc. etc.
