Well what can you do? Bonds is simply the greatest hitter of his era and probably of all time. He's a first ballot HOF'er

Tho I do feel bad for Pujols. The guy had a gigantic season and STILL he can't take home the MVP honours.

I'm surprised that the voting was so lop-sided. Just looking at Barry's 28 first place votes you would thought he just blew away the competition with his stats. While he did put up great numbers, Albert Pujols's numbers look better.

What is it here that I'm missing? I mean I can see where Bonds does have the advantage in OBP and Slugging Percentage. I can also see the fact that his team made the playoffs which is a huge plus for MVP these days. Is it the fact that they are saying, "Well it's amazing he did so much while getting walked so much." Because honestly Pujols beats Barry in litteraly every category except HR, SLG, and OBP.

So, I'm not saying in any way Barry Bonds did not deserve this MVP. The guy played another great season. All I'm saying is that I'm very surprised at how Barry just blew away the competition, even though Albert Pujols posted better numbers. To me, the MVP race seems a lot closer then the voters made it out to be.
