Kweiss you forget the human interest sidebar to Barry's season. The man lost his father and grieved hard. He missed a couple weeks of the season and then while suffering exhaustion he belted mammoth HRs. If that doesn't get at your heartstings I don't know what will.

Also i'm sure many of the sports writers know that Pujols will have his time in the sun.

Yeah, I remember saying that about 3 months ago (before his father's death). This was a really good time to bring it up again, as you should remember that some of your numbers should indeed be going down from such a tragic loss.

Also, remember that RBI's isn't a good stat for Bonds, because statistically, Bonds gets intentionally walked over 60% of the time with runners in scoring position, and gets regularly walked (well, we don't know if that's unintentional for sure) 75% of the time with runners in scoring position.

The biggest thing I look at is that the Giants cruised through the regular season. Then the Marlins don't pitch to Barry at all. Now we all know what happens. If Bonds gets a chance to hit he changes that entire series around and there would be a different World Series champ than the Marlins. That is the Most Valuable Player right there.

Even though Pujols is my favorite player, there is no way he should have beat out Bonds for that award. I believe the votes really show just how unbelievable Bonds really is. Like it has been pointed out, without Bonds, what did the Giants have offensively? He was more valuable to the Giants in 2003 than Pujols was to the Cards in 2003 even though Pujols had more win shares. But there were 3 other Cardinals in the top 25 in win shares this season and Bonds was the lone Giant in that 25. Surround Bonds with Edmonds and Rolen and see what happens...I am not taking anything away from Pujols' talent because I believe he can be as dominant offensively as Bonds, but it doesn't hurt to have Rolen and Edmonds around you. Pujols will win his awards if he leads the Cards to the post season.

I did, and there wasn't enough pitching to Bonds IMO.

Also, Felipe Alou should no doubt NOT win manager of the year since he didn't pinch run for Snow (Eric Young was still on the bench... WTF!!!).
