Heh, the defense has certainly seen better days... no doubt about it.

It's like they've taken the reigns from the Phillies as the guys who pull wins out of their asses continually.

I guess that's what good teams do.

Chapman with a nasty slider to strike out Soriano.

Reds win 3-0 and take 3 out of 4 from the Cubs.

The Reds were really needing a bit of a bounce back. Nice to see them take a series.

Ugh do I *have* to watch an ESPN broadcast? The game hasn't even started and they've mentioned last year three times.

I almost would rather listed to Chip Caray.

They were on the subject of whether or not relievers should be able to win the Cy Young and Buster Olney said that Aroldis Chapman would lead 4 teams in strikeouts. That's crazy seeing as how he's a short reliever. Anyway, what are everyone else's thoughts on the subject?

I think if a reliever is truly the best pitcher in the league then he should be able to win it. But that will be very rare and a hard case to make for a guy who pitches 70 innings over a guy who pitches 200+.

I agree, if a reliever is the best pitcher -with the best season- then he should win. It would take a lot though, like prime Gagne. Most of the time it should be a starter unless a reliever is just ridiculous.

Good point with Gagne, he was a monster. In 03, he had 4.5 WAR. Strasburg right now, has a 3.8 with 27 innings to go (assuming he really does have an innings limit of 160). 4.5 is also a win and a half more than Dennis Eckersley when he won Cy Young and MVP. Gagne's season was phenomenal. It's going to be beyond tough for a reliever to match that year.

Nice to see the Jays salvage a win against the Yanks this afternoon. The record is no longer important but I hope they can finish at .500 or above. Because of the injuries and such almost all the players on the field this afternoon were guys from the minors!

                                Oh and Rajai Davis? AWESOME!
