Cubs/Rockies in a rain delay in the top of the 9th. Cubs lead 5-0. I'm surprised the game wasn't called.

So I knew Lincecum was struggling this year, but while watching the Braves/Giants game tonight, I decided to look up his stats. What's going on with him? Is it just diminished velocity? I see it's down almost 2MPH since last year. Coincidentally, he's getting hit around a LOT more than he used to, jumping from 7 H/9 to 9.

Is the velocity all there is to it, or am I missing something that someone could fill me in on?

Loss in velocity, missing locations A LOT, ****ty defense and a lot of bad luck.

Tim Hudson had a higher Batting Average then Brian McCann.

Not to mention he's slow to home plate from the stretch, throws many wild pitches, and is notorious for giving up runs in the first inning this year. I don't know about you, but trying to come back from behind is incredibly difficult.

First inning ERA of 8, I'd say that's pretty accurate.

Uggla really needs to get his crap together.

Uggla still has a solid OBP due to him leading the NL in walks.

He needs to start hitting for contact instead of trying to kill the ball in every AB.

Is it too late for the Phillies to get back into the Wildcard? That sweep of the Nationals got my hopes up....maybe something special could happen. Pitching is there, bats could get hot over Sept and who knows....right...riiiiight....? lol
