Did the Red Sox any any salary from any of these guys?

I just read Beckett who will be 33 next year, is due like $16 million for 2013 and 2014.

Looks to be official. Gonzalez, Beckett and Punto on a plane to LA. This is awesome! Love this new ownership!

That 3-6 part of the order is deadly. Kemp, Gonzalez, Ramirez, Ethier. I mean wow.

          From MLBTradeRumors:

...the Dodgers have absorbed more than $300MM in future payroll obligations in the last month or so. As Jeff Euston of Cot's Baseball Contracts notes (on Twitter), the club now has a $193.75MM in contract obligations for next season, $133.6MM for 2014, $90MM for 2015, $88.65MM for 2015, and another $90MM for 2016. The Red Sox, on the other hand, are now on the hook for just $45.6MM in 2013, $34.4MM in 2014, $12.75MM in 2015, and $2.45MM in 2016 (Twitter link).

One Giant fan I know said this was just a move to sell tickets in LA.

There is something in the water in Northern California.

Imagine a healthy Crawford in the 2 hole in front of those guys too.

And then imagine that Dee Gordon learns how to consistently get on base in the lead off hole in front of all of those guys...

This is a projected 2013 lineup for LA

                      Dee Gordon
                      Carl Crawford
                      Matt Kemp
                      Adrian Gonzalez
                      Hanley Ramirez
                      Andre Ethier
                      Mark Ellis
                      AJ Ellis

Thats a solid lineup right there.

Well you can't say the Dodgers aren't trying to be that marquee team in LA anymore. Man what a deal for them and even though it's costly I think it could reap some serious benefits.

As for the Red Sox? They're clearly in retooling mode.

Definite good trade for Boston. Amazing that they were able to get some solid young guys while not having to pick up much of the salary.

Yeah, sorry. I should have said "one of the few" rather than "the only." Glad it got done though.

I still can't believe the Red Sox aren't on the hook for more finances. Best of luck to Crawford and Gonzalez in LA. Beckett...I'll chose to remember 07 and leave it at that.
