I could also see all of them (except maybe TB) finish below .500.

They won 73 games last season, let's not get carried away because they got a couple old and/or injury prone players from a last place team. The turf takes a toll, and a couple of those players are going to lose time.

Happ and Romero aren't good. Buehrle is mediocre and on the downside of his career. Johnson is good but I don't remember the last time he was healthy for a full season. Reyes seems to pull a hamstring every month. Dickey is 39 and will be reintroduced to the AL, a league that didn't treat him so well last time around.

Lots of question marks with Toronto. If everything breaks right they can easily win 92 games and the AL East, but seeing them stumble with injuries or declining players to another 75 win season isn't that far fetched.

The AL East in general seems to be this way. Really hard to predict. Like I said, I can see all of them being over .500 and 3 of them being in playoff hunt, but I can also see all of them faltering.

They won 73 games last year despite injuries, which I don't think you took into account. With last year's team, they probably would have been close to 80 even if Bautista alone had managed to play the last 3 months. I wouldn't call all the players they got injury prone. Reyes and Johnson maybe (though Johnson I've heard may say looks different going into this season, change of approach). I've never known Buehrle, Cabrera, or any of the others to be known as injury-prone. Buehrle may be on the downside, but he is still a solid pitcher and is not expected to pitch like a #1 (or even a #2, that is Morrow's slot). Hell, Johnson is a #4. I don't expect Dickey to repeat last year, but I don't expect him to be the same guy he was years ago in Texas. By the way, he was not the same pitcher then that he is now.

Now, could they finish below .500? Sure! But your post seems to be based mostly on assumptions, like the fact they were only a 73-win team last year (which is hidden behind injuries), everyone they picked up will get hurt or underperform, and in addition, you have to assume that the O's don't play like one of the luckiest teams in history again, the Red Sox are significantly better (certainly not 20-30 wins better, that I really doubt), and that the Yankees play like it is 1998. They could have the same team as last year and with a declining New York, a less lucky Baltimore, and a healthy Bautista, they probably get to 80 wins. Just have to wait and see.

Wow, the Tigers are going to become the first team to ever lose TWO playoff series in the same season!

                                Re: Official 2013 Predictions Thread

NL is decided, see how I did...

                                Early predictions:

                                NL
                                East: Braves - Yup
                                Central: Reds - Nope
                                West: Giants - Nope
Wild card: Nationals vs. Pirates - Half

                                Full predictions:

                                NL
                                East:
                                Braves
                                Nationals
                                Phillies
                                Marlins
                                Mets

Marlins are last Phillies could still ger 3rd but I got the playoff teams from this division right.

                                Central:
                                Reds
                                Pirates
                                Brewers
                                Cardinals
                                Cubs

Cubs at the bottom and Reds and Pirates are in the playoffs but Cardinals are in 1st. Nice to see the Pirates weren't a total let down when I picked them this year.

                                West:
                                Giants
                                Dodgers
                                Diamondbacks
                                Rockies
                                Padres

Speaking of total let down hello Giants. I thought I had the Dodgers in last for some reason but had them in 2nd. Last 3 still sorting it out but Dodgers 1st and Diamondbacks 2nd.
