How did that Kazmir guy do last season?? I didn't hear a thing on him. He was our 1st round pick in 2002.

Very well. 27 GS, 109 IP, 79 H, 145 K's splitting time between the FSL and SAL. He's still only 19, and the Mets have been very careful about limiting his work. I'm pretty sure that he could be a force out of the bullpen right now for them (he has Billy Wagner stuff). But if they keep him as a starter, he's probably another 2 years away to fine tune his secondary pitches. He's certainly the future of this franchise.Comment

Re: Mets Rant
Does anyone remember the "great pitching trio" the Mets brought up in '95-96, Jason Isringhausen, Bill Pulsipher and Paul Wilson, and how they were can't miss prospects, as we all know, they missed, big time!, it took Isringhausen being traded and moved to the Closer role for him to be any good, Wilson has become, at least, a decent bottem of the rotation pitcher, and Pulsipher was a total bust,
why i bring this up is, the Mets have three more very good young pitchers in Aaron Heilman, who did not fair so well in the majors last year, Scott Kazimer and Bob Kepple, these three could all be very good pitchers for the Mets for years to come, if they don't rush them, i don't think anyone wants to relive the days off the "can't miss" young guns, who only fire blanks.Comment

Don't bring back a bunch of Fossils and then go out and get this shortstop Kenny Blankenship or whatever his name is, in a move that had nothing to do with baseball, and everything to do with filling Shea with Japanese-Americans willing to throw away their hard earned dollars to see a sup-par team. (Nothing against my Japanese brothers and sisters, just pointing out that that was a business move aimed at generating revenue) As for myself,

Blankenship was imported from MXC? AWESOME! What about his sidekick? Vic Ramano? I think that's his name. He can man 2B.Comment
