I really hope Chris Davis can keep taking the outside pitch the other way. As soon as he starts to try pulling those pitches his K total will climb. So far he is doing a great job of going the other way. The HR he hit today was just like the one he hit in Tampa in that opening series.

Did the lightbulb just go on for him? His approach looks completely different than it did a few years ago. It's seems to be a lot different than even last year, when he had some success. He's locked in right now obviously, and he's seeing everything at the plate.

I think only 1 of his homers this year was pulled...the rest have been to to left or center field.

Not sure what it is, but I think that Buck telling him early in spring he is the teams everyday 1B (not DH, not OF) has given him the confidence to know that Baltimore wants him and he isn't up there trying to win an everyday job. Seems like he is in a good place and knows that everyday he is hitting 5 or 6 in a line-up that will give him a chance to drive guys in and be productive. Whatever it is I really hope that it can continue. Haven't had a 1B that can hit like he has since Palmeiro.

His swinging strike rate is still high. He will strike out more than he is now, but he should also be better than he's ever been before.

I'm glad we get to avoid Verlander in this three-game set. Dude would have had a 20K game against our lineup.

Yanks getting a break tonight, Josh Johnson was supposed to make the start tonight, but will be replaced with Aaron Laffey.

You might call it a break, but Josh Johnson is guaranteed to get injured at some point every year.

Huff had a 30/100 year for us in (I think) 2008, but yeah this is the best long term 1B we've had since then.

It's just a tight muscle. I'm not going to call it an injury until he's out for an extended period of time and on the DL. He hasn't been that impressive any way so I welcome someone else getting a start.

The Yankees are cursed this year. Cervelli and Nova go down now? WTF!?

As long as Vernon Wells is healthy they'll still clown the Jays.
