    Let's clear the dust --

Is the A-Rod trade GOOD for baseball?

    Simple question.

No. There are some positives to it, but overall I think there are more negatives.

No, it's not good for baseball. It is under the current rules (legal), but it's not good for baseball.

I'm a Yankees fan, but their generated revenue is not even close to other teams. I think they're setting themselves up for a big disappointment because these kinds of moves/spending rarely pans out.

I'll enjoy the season nonetheless, definitely getting out to a game or two, but this just isn't right IMHO.

The only good I see out of this is the limelight that baseball has benn getting, not only now, but all winter long.

It has kept baseball in the news which is good for the sport.

Otherwise, I don't think it's a good trade for the state of the sport.

No, and the any publicity is good publicity schtick only works with people not organizations such as MLB. MLB has a very bad image problem of "the rich getting richer the poor getting poorer" This to me oculd be the straw that breaks the camel's back and will actually cause a decline in popularity.

                            not good

here in boston we spend our fair share..but WE'RE being outspent by 70 MILLION !!

                            here's what MLB needs

                            some kind of cap

                            shorter season 140 games

                            MORE PLAYOFF TEAMS
just think for a 2nd...if you're in BMORE you have a slim shot at postseason this year (& u have a good team)..now lets say another wild card is avail...while the yanks/sox run away with the east..the O's fan base can still be excited about ball in august>>>>>higher attendence>>>>more concessions sold>>>>>>more revenue
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.
