I know that Boone came into the league as a 2nd baseman....but there not sitting him on the Bench...hes out for the year with a torn ACL. Thats the whole reason they went and got AROD

            Sheffield over Pujols? Right...

Edit: And I just notcied Jeter over Renteria. In what way is Jeter better than Renteria?

                  "The intangibles"

Renteria had a better year than Jeter last year. Giles over Boone in a heartbeat. And I'd take Pujols over Sheffield as well. And the pitching matchups don't exactly work. I'd take Wood over Mussina and anyone over Lieber, because he's unproven. So, given that group of pitchers to choose from I'd probably take Wood, Prior, Vasquez, Schmidt, and Mussina. And I'd take Gagne over Smoltz and Rivera. Actually, I'd take the Nl's bullpen over the Yankees, no sense in playing match-ups.

Wow what a Yankee fan! He doesn't even know the name of one of the setup men in the 'pen. IT'S PAUL QUANTRILL not Peter!

Besides I find this all to be moot as talent alone doesn't win championships. It's a combination of talent and chemistry. Heck just look at the Marlins! Last year they beat a Yankee team that was better then them on paper and many folks (including me) thought that it would be a cakewalk for the Yanks.

Exactly. I like how he picked Benitez as the other reliever when the NL had Smoltz, Gagne, and Wagner last year.

About the intangibles, if that was refering to my my question, I agree that Jeter must be a good leader being that he is the captain and all. I just question how the chemistry of the Yankees will work this year with so many new players. And on the subject of Sheffield, I find it highly unlikely that he will have a year like '03, and his '03 was not as good as Pujols' (although they were close).

Edit: And plus, I don't buy into intangibles any more as that was Jocketty and LaRussa's reasoning over what Tino Martinez brought to the Cardinals.
