This post is the most ridiculous post I've ever read, for starters you give no reasons why you picked who you do and your a Cubs fan, a bias maybe? Jeriome isn't the 5th starter, and Wood over Oswalt? Seriously, and Ensberg with a fluke year, thanks for looking into your crystal ball, but obviously you didn't factor in defense, because A-Ram is horrible. He's isn't that much better in hitting. Yeah an Biggio can play a whole season, and only made 2 errors all last year, for a first year CF! C'mon!

I would've picked Ensberg over Ramirez (defensively and offensively), and Lee over Bagwell (who's brittle and not as fast as Lee).

                        Fluke year? Ridiculous!

I'm really surprised to see such an objective assessment of each team coming from a Cubs fan.

I also noticed that you failed to factor defense into most of your analysis because if you had Ensberg would trump Ramirez. And it could be argued that Lee would trump Bagwell mostly because he has a healthy throwing shoulder, but Baggy can still pick it and has been overlooked for his defense for far too long.

Tim Redding has already been named the Astros 5th starter, not Jeriome Robertson. He showed last year some of the promise the Astros have been expecting from him, and should benefit from having Clemens and Pettitte around.

As far as the benches go, who do the Cubs have that can hit off of the bench? Not arguing, just asking. The Astros 4th outfielder will be Jason Lane, who would have replaced Richard Hidalgo had he been traded. The guy can hit, and may force Biggio to the role of a utility man before the year is out. We'll see.

Our bullpen did lose Billy Wagner, but is actually quite a bit deeper this season with the additions of Brandon Backe from Tampa, if he's healthy Dave Veres, and Brandon Duckworth plus a full season of Dan Miceli.

Anyway, it's clear, on paper, that either team can win the division and go deep into the playoffs, but that's why they play the games.

Todd Hollandsworth, Todd Walker, and Tom Goodwin are probably their three best unless I'm forgetting someone.

I agree with you about Ramirez/Ensberg and Lee/Bagwell. However, I think Lee is clearly superior to Bagwell both at the plate and in the field at this point in their careers. Lee could very well throw down a 40/30 any season now.
