He's never been any good, he's the worst fielder in the game.
Also Veres was injured all last year, his career era is somewhere under 3.5. FAR BETTER than Hawkins career ERA. Not too mention that if Veres stinks it up, he's signed to a minor league deal, so he's not guaranteed to make the club.

As for Ramirez, I cannot deny that his defense is suspect. But if you read carefully, my point was that he can improve. He's still very young at 25 years of age. Defensive mistakes can be addressed. Whether or not they are remains to be seen.
And finally, I've been willing to give you the benefit of the doubt up till now. But I'd like to point out the following quote ...

This post is the most ridiculous post I've ever read, for starters you give no reasons why you picked who you do and your a Cubs fan, a bias maybe?

Seems somebody else has an issue with objectivity ...

Bottom line ... this will be a tight and fun race to watch. IMO, the Cubs have better pitching, while the Astros have better hitting. In the end, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if both teams made it to the playoffs. And, we cannot rule out the Cards ... that offense is explosive ... though it's a bit off topic, since the title is Cubs vs. Astros.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents ...
