    Re: Cubs vs Astros

In my case where Borowski is concerned, most games I have been to in person before last year Borowski would seem to get shelled. Since you say his ERA was better in 2002 in last year, he obviously had some decent outings. Its just that prior to last year didnt show me a lot. I hope he does great this year but at the same time I wouldnt be shocked if he struggled in comparison to last year.

Here's an article about the Cubs' closer situation: Cubs.com - Hawkins vs. Borowski

Joe Borowski's numbers for the past two years:

      2002 (Cubs) 4 wins, 4 losses, 2.73 ERA - 95 IP, 97 K, 29 BB

      2003 (Cubs) 2 wins, 2 losses, 2.63 ERA - 68.1 IP, 66 K, 19 BB

From 1990 to 1998 he was awful. From 1998 to 2001, he pitched in the Mexican leagues. He obviously learned something there, cause he came back terrific.

yeah but they had to clear up some room there so that they could sign maddux, besides derek lee will make you forget all about him. Plus Derek Lee is a good hitter and good at defense. As for Pudge is was a bit overrated, its just because of a good postseason. I mean he hist .286 with about 16 homeruns, and around 86 or so RBI. Are you sure you would want to give $10 million for that. I know he plays good defense but still. Also he has had recent injury problems within the past 2 years and plus with catchers they don't stay healthy as long as other players. He will probably start to decline soon, and then you would be tied up with him for 4 years.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Dude you just described Maddux. It's so funny that since the Cubs didn't get Pudge, that now he is no good and they don't want him. You guys got tricked by Scott Boras into thinking that maybe the Yankees were gonna sign hip so you, gave him way too much cash, and overpaid. Good job Hendry.
