The Giants have some good announcers, with John Miller, Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow. Krukow's a total homer, but he explains a lot of stuff about being a player, and makes it real interesting. Joe Angel was pretty boring last year, and am glad he's not doing any games for them this year. He just didn't sound like he was into it at all.

John Miller is great, but Krukow is a freakin tool. Jerry Coleman in San Diego is a crack up. How can you beat, "He slides into second with a stand up double," or, "It's a deep drive to center, Winfield is going back, his head hits the wall, it's rolling towards second base." Yes he really said those things.

Winfield huh...? So are you giving us "the best of" or is it that he only says something funny once or twice a decade?

Maybe you're missing what I'm trying to get at with Coleman. The guy is a F-up when it comes to announcing. The guy has been screwing up for years and he's getting more screwed up as he gets older. I like the guy because he reminds me of my childhood and listening to games on the radio, not because he's good. Yes that was the "best of," because I couldn't quite remember the other 1,483 funny messed things he's said during Padre broadcasts.

I thought you were saying he acts like a stooge on purpose in order to entertain. Is he radio or tv because I think if you were listening to those calls on the radio where you are so dependent on what the announcer says to visualize the action it would be easier to detect those mistakes. If I was watching and he said that Im not sure Id pick up on the humor--certainly not as easily.

I guess I'm the only one that can't stand Joe Buck. He and McCarver are just brutal.

One guy I really enjoy though is Bob Uecker. Unfortunately he doesn't do many (if any) national games anymore. No one's more entertaining than 'Ueck'.
