I guess I'm the only one that can't stand Joe Buck. He and McCarver are just brutal.

One guy I really enjoy though is Bob Uecker. Unfortunately he doesn't do many (if any) national games anymore. No one's more entertaining than 'Ueck'.

I have to agree with you about Joe Buck. I just don't see why he's the #1 guy on Fox. Actually, I don't really like the Fox baseball telecasts in general... announcers getting too carried away with their own crap, and too many swishing sounds and too many adds at the bottom of the screen.

I too think Joe Buck is overrated. I too think Uecker is great. I think Chris Berman also painful to listen too. Why is he announcing games anyway?

I hate Joe Buck, his ego just shines through every sentence he says and it pisses me off. I can't stand any Fox telecast, be it NFL or MLB, to be honest.

The Red Sox have a good announcing tandem on television, which is all that matters to me. Jerry Remy and Sean McDonough do a great job together, though now they only do Friday Night baseball. Don Orsillo joins Remy for the NESN broadcasts and at first he seemed kind of bland but he has really blossomed and does a great job. The radio guys on the other hand, they're awful. I can't even think of their names right now. They overreact to everything, "ITS A DEEP FLY BALL TO CENTER FIELD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND Soriano makes the catch behind second base..."

                        Re: Good/Bad Announcers...?

I'm a yankee fan, and I get sick of the blatant homerism on YES.

Kay is a moron. He knows nothing about baseball, and does nothing but kiss the Yankees ***, and make excuses when they don't play well, and over compliment them when they do. He also seems to think every flyball that reaches the outfield is a DEEP fly ball, which drives me nuts.

Waldman is even worse. She's everything Kay is, plus the most annoying voice on the planet.

Ken Singleton, Jim Kaat, and O'Neil when he announces are all pretty good however. To bad Kay does the play by play and ruins it.

I don't listen to the games on the radio much, but from the little I hear Sterling sucks and Steiner isn't that great either.

As for non Yankees announcers, McCarver feels the need to harp on every small point he makes for the entire game. I'm just glad he is no longer a Yankees announcer. I like Buck, except that he tends get really off topic and talk about stupid stuff like when electricity first started being used in Boston.

                        The ESPN guys are good.
