I think Dusty Baker, hit the nail on the head, it is like McCarthyism. Basically all someone has to do is accuse you of something and you are as good as guilty in the eyes of many. You could argue all day long about what he looks like this year versus last and whatever, but it proves nothing.

Wendell is kind of a knucklehead anyway, is it cool to say something a lot of people are thinking or is it totally BS, when you have no idea what the facts are?

I am not naive enough to think that their isn't steroid use in baseball, but I also can't stand the public speculation based on nothing more than weight gain and a good year.

Dusty Baker has also said white players don't do well in the sun. So right there he loses all of his cred. with me. As for Barry who knows if he uses them or not, even if he doesn't Barry would never actually do anything to get back at Turk, Barry just seems like a big talker. He certainly would never actually get in a fight that doesn't involve bitching.

i had a close friend of the family that killed his wife and kid and also you could add bank robbery to the list. now because i knew him and was very close to him, did that make me guilty by association? of course not. seperate your insatiable desire to see bonds exposed from real and true accusations. i can read all your post and read you hate this man as if you really knew him. you read the articles, see the interviews and make your assumptions on that as far as what kind of a guy he is. foolish. just because you have a dirty friend, mind you not a guy you just met, but a friend from when you were in high school, doesnt make you dirty. i wont go as far as to say that maybe he told him it was available but do you think that bonds is that stupid? really? mcgwire got thick like bonds did with the same drastic of a change, and dont forget mcgwire is 6'5. guys that big dont get mass like that overnight. look at all your body builders. 5'7, 5'8. bonds aint no small guy either, but why the was mcgwire able to slide under the radar? he was probably sittin right next to canseco sharin the needles in the a's locker room. aloso i find it funny how giambi can come to camp lookin like a high school kid droppin all that weight, and barry comes to camp the same yet, we say that barry has something to hide?

            Re: Turk vs. Barry

I'm so sick of people making accusations without proof. What country is this? Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? You better know for damn sure a person is guilty if you're going to accuse them of something, much less publicly. I like Turk Wendell but he was out of line.

Yeah, Barry is huge now and he wasn't when he was younger. Well, I was looking at pictures of Hank Aaron and Ernie Banks when they started their careers and they were much lighter and spry when they started. Now that I think about it, most friggin people seem to get larger in their late 30s when compared to their 20s. My point is that this fact alone, which certain yambags love to site ad nauseum isn't nearly as convincing as they think it is.

I think people should just admit that part of the reason they're convinced Barry is on steroids is because they object to his personality, and the steroid rap is a convenient way to justify their distaste for him.

No one's denying your love for baseball, I'm only questioning your arguement that Barry is guilty by association along with a lot of other people here. I don't like "the steroid debate" even existing in baseball just like you. What I hate even more is people coming to conclusions about others without "true" knowledge of their guilt or innocence.

I'm sure some people on this board has had a close friend who has done some dirt or has had trouble with the law. This fact doesn't automatically mean that you are involved as well. What point about this arguement don't you understand?

Finally, how did Bonds put himself in this situation? Did he pull an "Agent Smith" and take over the body of Turk and accuse himself? Unless Turk saw him visually use steroids he was probably out of line for even answering that question the way he did. Just my two cents
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
