    8/5 - 8/11 Game Discussion Thread

Rays have another week of interleague play with two days off this week.

    8/5: Day off
    8/6 - 8/7: @ Diamondbacks
    8/8: Day off
    8/9 - 8/11: @ Dodgers

They even get to face Kershaw on Saturday the 10th.

Anything better than 2-3 this week is acceptable.

monumentally huge series this week with Detroit. Last time the Indians see the Tigers at home, in a four game series, with the divison on the line. Both teams are incredibly hot going into this series, too.

the tigers maybe without Miggy for tonight, Peralta will be gone, its a depleted tigers line-up without those 2. its going to be interesting to see the kid salazar wednesday, he shutdown a pretty solid toronto lineup

the indians have a good track record vs verlander and Masterson is red hot since the AS Break. i think the Indians can take 3 of 4

José Iglesias won't hit like Peralta, but he'll provide us value nonetheless. However, no Infante and no Cabrera means having to start bums in the infield. This would be a good series for Fielder to come in and earn his money. If the Indians get swept, that would probably wrap up the division. Anything other than that could possibly be overcome.

Fun fact, the Indians have the exact same record as they did in 2007 at this point in the season when they went to the ALCS (both teams had/have a record of 62-49)

Strasburg runs to the dugout THREE times in the first two innings after thinking he pitched strike three.

I'm watching a lot of Rays games lately, so I'm stoked to see them at Dodger Stadium and I'm glad they got the Sunday Night game too.

              Should be a fun series

The Nationals got what was coming to them this season for pretty much proclaiming themselves World Series Champions before the season even started. Davey Johnson is completely full of himself.

What a game. Down 2-0 going into the 9th the Tigers have rallied.

Prince with a double and a few hits and Homer by Alex Avila later....4-2 with no outs.

Terrible managing by francona tonight, put Cody Allen in and the game is over Tribe win it 2-0, instead he puts a worn out Perez who has pitched 4 days in a row and 6 overall in the past week IIRC. Loss is on Francona tonight. luckily the tribe have the favored pitching matchup tomorrow and wednesday the tigers have never seen Salazar before.

And the man who started it off is back up with the bases loaded. Would be awesome if he could just crush a slam right now.

And I as I say this he grounds out but still. Well done boys. Now let's have Benoit close her out.

I dread the 9th on nights Kimbrel has to rest...you take it for granted how easy he makes it most times.
